White Sox Suffer 7-4 Loss to Cardinals
|
Though he had a terrific game, Jackie Rosado could not prevent his team, the Chicago White Sox, from absorbing a loss. St. Louis won the game, 7-4. Rosado went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3. Thomas Brown, the winning pitcher, is now 8-7. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. Kyle Lipschultz closed the game out for St. Louis, earning his 28th save.
The Cardinals took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Jacob Sehlhorst banged a two-out double. St. Louis had been trailing 4-3, but Sehlhorst hit a 1-2 sinker from Joe Oliver for a 2-run double.
"We've got great fans," said Sehlhorst. "I hope they got what they came for."
With the win, the Cardinals sit at 72-66.
