Cascades Holby Fans 15 Hops
|
Everything was working for Ean Holby today at Royal Port Stadium. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The splitter was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 27-year-old Holby fanned 15 Hops and sparked the Vancouver Cascades to a 3-0 victory over Portland. He left Hops hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Vancouver manager Nate Barrett. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 8 innings, Holby allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Holby said with a smile.
To date this season, Holby has registered 28 starts, 11-11 won-lost mark, 2.89 ERA, 183.2 IP, 227 strikeouts and 47 walks. Opposing teams have hit .209 against him.
