The Virginia Black Bears eked out a 3-2 win versus the Memphis Blues at Blues Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Todd Nguyen. He was terrific. Nguyen got the win, improving to 1-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Nguyen allowed no runs. The victory puts Virginia at 51-88.

Virginia took a 3-0 lead on Richard Chilekwu's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Chilekwu hit in the top of the seventh, left Memphis pitcher Ryland Wilson visibly frustrated.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Nguyen told the Virginia Observer.
