Recreation Park hosted a real pitchers' duel.

Bakersfield took on Martinez in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Osmond Forest, in particular, was fantastic. The Bakersfield right-hander helped his team snag the win, 1-0. In 7.2 innings, Forest surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Kyle Panella earned save number 6 this season.

Bakersfield used a timely hit from Calvin Parsons to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Osmond did a heck of a job," said Bakersfield manager Owen Wood.

The win takes Bakersfield to 8-5.
