In a tension-filled contest between the Modesto Nuts and the Lake Elsinore Storm, pitcher Rob Pritchett was superb. The Modesto right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. The win went to Ken Gachupin in relief, making him now 1-0. Hector McRoy took the loss for Lake Elsinore. Modesto has a mark of 9-4 after the win.

The Nuts got a clutch hit from designated hitter Zander Gargaloyan. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Nuts.

"Rob has got a slow heartbeat," said Modesto manager Mark Pollack. "He doesn't panic or anything."
