Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Athletics
|
Oakland Athletics starter Regan Pore was in fine form against the Kansas City Royals at O.co Coliseum, leading his team to a win, 5-3. Oakland pitcher Emmett Woodell got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Emilio Huerta got the loss. Oakland, at 23-18, sits in third place in the Western Region Northwest Division.
Oakland won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Emilio Huerta on the mound for Kansas City, third baseman Isaac Cabarga hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Athletics fans to their feet.
"I take a professional approach to my job," said Pore. "I've been around this game for a while."
