The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the London Royals, 7-6, in 10 innings. Mitchell David, who is on pace for 113 RBI this season, played a big role. David was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Pirates in the win. Alex Abreu snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 6-9 on the season. With the victory, the Pirates record stands at 68-72.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Toby Wheeler came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing London pitcher Austin Huey, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Pittsburgh on top, 7-6.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Pittsburgh manager Aaron Calderon.
