Giants Nip Athletics, 4-3
|
The Giants grabbed a win, 4-3, at Oracle Park, overcoming a fine effort from Oakland pitcher Graham Gal. Gal went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. San Francisco reliever Luther Diamond picked up the win, raising his record to 8-4. Juan Canas was tagged with the loss. San Francisco now has a record of 76-65 with the win.
The Giants were down to their final out when first baseman Jackson Maul turned a 2-1 changeup from Juan Canas into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run made the Oracle Park crowd go wild.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Maul told reporters after the game.
