Boston right fielder Ramon Pantoja picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Portland Hops, 7-6. Ali Gilliam, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 26th save. The last-place Red Sox hiked their record to 63-79.

Second Baseman Reginald Heredia made an impact for Boston, when he swatted a 3-run home run off J.J. Startzman in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Heredia went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Pantoja told the Boston Observer.
