The BeerGarden was the site of a true pitchers' duel.

Portland starter Jefry Alcantara put a stranglehold on the Oakland offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Hops to a 2-1 win. Portland reliever Justin Adkins was credited with the win, to go to 6-6. Iglesias Cortez took the loss for Oakland.

The Hops procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Russ Hicks. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"Everything felt in sync," said Alcantara.

With the win, the Hops improved to 52-92.
