Blues Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Memphis Blues faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Karim Banderas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blues Stadium by a final score of 4-3. Banderas went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Ryder Gideon, the 33rd overall pick in the 2057 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Maury Turner. With the victory, the Blues upped their record to 73-73.
Santiago Ochoa was the walk-off hero for Memphis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blues third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Ochoa.
