Marlins Win, Bandoh slugs 2 home runs
A good performance from center fielder Gerard Bandoh helped the Miami Marlins defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-5. Bandoh hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Marlins. The win went to Hiroshi Kamiyama in relief. His record improves to 9-9. Alfred Jimenez took the loss. Reese Dayo got the save, his 9th in 11 chances.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Hershel Terrell came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Arizona pitcher Alfred Jimenez, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 5-4.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Bandoh told the Miami Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."

The Marlins lead the National League Sparrow Division by a game.
