Philadelphia turned a good effort from starter Kurt Faur into a win over the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. The Phillies won the game, 3-1. The Phillies improved their record to 86-62 by beating Seattle.

Aramis Blanco, who is tied for 10th in the AL in home runs with 31, had a direct impact on the outcome. Blanco contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Philadelphia skipper Corey Barrentine. "I can't complain."
