Reds Rally Late to Clip Houston
|
The Cincinnati Reds had to overcome a good performance from Houston pitcher Brandon Love to claim a 3-2 win at Minute Maid Park. Love went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ethan Fowler got the save, his 15th in 20 chances. The Reds win now puts them at 71-77.
Conrado Greeley, who finished 3rd in the NL in on-base percentage with .442 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Greeley contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Reds manager Jason Quinlan.
