Pittsburgh parlayed a decent outing from starter Lloyd Silva into a solid win over the Fresno Falcons. The final score was 4-3. Reliever Marcall Monico picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Woody Jones, who led the NL in saves with 47 in 2062, took the loss. Pittsburgh is now 74-76. Fresno is 84-66.

The Pirates got a clutch hit from right fielder Woodrow Collins. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Pirates.

"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Silva.
