Win Makes Seattle 98-52
|
Seattle got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jake Prendergast, who frustrated Oakland hitters en route to a 3-0 Mariners triumph at T-Mobile Park. The winning pitcher was Prendergast, now 14-6. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The victory gives the Mariners a record of 98-52.
Bobby Brundage went 1 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch against the Athletics. In the bottom of the first inning, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run, putting Seattle in front, 1-0.
Prendergast said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
