New York pitcher Dan Jay did his part in helping his team beat the New York Yankees, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Jay yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3. Roland Otano notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
New York used a clutch at-bat from Ethan Wykle to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We did a lot of things right," said Jay.
