White Sox Improve to 86-65 with 4-3 Win
|
The Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals, 4-3. Chicago pitcher and Oakland, California, native Lyle Lundquist led the way. The triumph puts Chicago at 86-65 for the season.
Billy Plato had a big solo home run for the White Sox in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 3-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a knuckle curve from Robert Stevenson, who is tied for 9th in the WEST in strikeouts with 185, and punished it. The result was his 43rd home run of the season, which put the White Sox on top, 4-0.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago manager Tristan Scoggins.
