Athletics Victorious at Cincinnati, 9-5
|
The Oakland Athletics took on the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.
The Oakland Athletics defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 9-5, in part because of center fielder Clifford Wise. Wise went 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Athletics. Oakland reliever Tyler Weber picked up the win to move to 2-6. Joshua Chavez suffered the loss.
Damien Chase helped out the Oakland cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Chase. "More importantly, I had a good game."
The win puts Oakland at 55-97.
