Chicago center fielder Meredith Moore had a good game, even if his team did not. The Cubs dropped a 5-4 decision to Texas at Wrigley Field. Moore went 4-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Matias Roberts closed it out for his 29th save. The 4th-place Rangers are now 77-78, the Cubs 82-73.

Texas used the timely hitting of Pedro Medrano to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We want to make a habit of winning," Medrano said after the game.
