Athletics Fall to Milwaukee, 7-2
|
The Milwaukee Brewers used the hitting of catcher David Reed to subdue the Oakland Athletics, 7-2. For the game, Reed went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The Athletics, now 58-100, have lost 7 straight.
One of the clutch hits for Milwaukee came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Clifford Carr, who is tied for 7th in the NL in runs scored with 102, hit a 2-run single to put the Brewers up, 5-2. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Oakland manager Aiden Boden. "It's just not paying off."
