Cleveland pitcher Aidan Steck had a large part in his team beating the California Angels, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Cleveland reliever Lee Shape picked up the win, raising his record to 7-4. Max Janca was tagged with the loss. With the win, Cleveland upped its record to 84-74.

Ryan Charleton was the walk-off hero for Cleveland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Indians right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said California manager William Lane.
