Vancouver Defeated By Athletics, 3-2
|
The Oakland Athletics had to overcome a fine effort from Vancouver pitcher Karson Henage to win, 3-2, at O.co Coliseum. Henage went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Cascades, at 78-80, have lost 4 straight games.
Had Tod Groch not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Groch hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Athletics.
Oakland manager Alejandro Suarez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
