Blue Jays Drop 5-2 Decision to Expos
|
Montreal left fielder Hiroshi Takase was a significant contributor in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Montreal. The win was credited to Mason McKinney in relief. His record improves to 17-2. Alfonzo Jiménez took the loss. Montreal now has a record of 89-70 with the win.
In the bottom of the first, Jose Stevens delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Montreal third baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Expos in front, 5-2.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Takase told the Montreal Today.
