Blue Jays Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Toronto pitcher Jared Iglesias did his part in helping his team defeat the New York Yankees, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Iglesias, the winner, moves to 13-9. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. Toronto has now won 3 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Blue Jays had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when center fielder Axel Rosales hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Caleb Hodgin and made the score 2-1, Blue Jays. Rosales was 1-2 with a walk.
"Both teams played hard," said Toronto manager Adam Luthe.
