Pirates Hand New York 3-0 Loss
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates got a marvelous performance from pitcher Silas LeNormand. The right-hander kept the New York offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-0 Pittsburgh victory at Best Buy Ballpark. The save went to Ken Quinones, his 26th this season. Pittsburgh has now won 3 in a row.
The Pirates got a big hit from catcher B.J. Ho. Facing New York pitcher Johan Rosas in the bottom of the fifth, Ho pounded a solo home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season put the Pirates ahead, 1-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said New York skipper Tony Medina, "and it cost us."
