Indians Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
The Cleveland Indians weathered a fine game by California right fielder Michelangelo White to upend the Angels, 4-3, at Tecumseh Field. White went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2. Ken Quinones earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 5-3. The losing streak for California has now reached 4 games.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Byron Guzman came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing California pitcher Curtis Keegan, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 4-3.
"It was a good effort all around," said Guzman.
