When the games really matter, the Lowell Spinners put on their best show, beating the Batavia Muckdogs by a final score of 9-8. Claver Brito went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The series now sits at 1-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Lowell used a well-timed hit by Jayden Paine to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spinners ahead, 9-8. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Lowell manager Jason Blahut.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell.
