Indianapolis Ignition starter Phil Meyer pitched well against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Motoyuki Matsui. The third-place Ignition hiked their record to 25-19.

Indianapolis relied on the bat of Luther Broadnax to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ignition ahead, 3-2. For the game, Broadnax had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"Phil pitched like a champ," said Indianapolis manager Jay Duren.
