DiGenova Lifts Hillcats to 13-1 Triumph
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats relied on the hitting of center fielder Kyle DiGenova to stop the Tampa Tarpons, 13-1. For the game, DiGenova hit 2 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Lynchburg reliever Josh Burton, now 6-5. The loser was Tristan Arakawa. The Hillcats now have a record of 36-64.
In the bottom of the first, DiGenova had one of his most important at-bats: a grand slam home run off Tristan Arakawa that staked the Hillcats to a 4-0 lead.
Tampa manager David Flores was on the defensive afterward. "You can go back and make us look as bad as you want to," he told a reporter, "and then I can throw more numbers at you and make us look better."
