Due in large part to left fielder Spencer Shol, the Virginia Beach Mariners sunk the Lynchburg Hillcats, 7-6. Shol went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The defeat makes Lynchburg 65-41.

In the bottom of the fifth, Virginia Beach pinch hitter Max Paiement had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Paiement stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 6-5, Virginia Beach. For the game, he was 1-1.
