Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Hagerstown Suns and Hickory Crawdads.
Hagerstown Suns pitcher Joe McGough was in fine form, leading his team past the Hickory Crawdads, 3-0. McGough got the win, improving to 3-11. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Ryan Mandt earned the save, his 7th in 8 tries.
Hagerstown needed the clutch hitting of Damian Holmes to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Suns on top, 3-0. For the game, Holmes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
