4-2 Loss Extends West Virginia Losing Streak
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Hagerstown Suns got the win.
The Hagerstown Suns overcame a fine performance by West Virginia left fielder Jake Weekly to defeat the Power, 4-2, at Ballpark of Hagerstown. Weekly was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Luke Gray earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-0.
Had Julian Sutton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Sutton hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Suns.
"I like the roll we're on," said Hagerstown manager Adam Reid.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Suns.
