Greenville Drops Another One, 4-1
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods and Greenville Drive were able to complete their ballgame.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods downed the Greenville Drive, 4-1, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Pablo Juarez had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2056 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Bowling Green reliever Brantley Miller was the winner. His record is now 8-3. The losing pitcher was Pablo Feliciano. Zeke Brooks was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Simon Bartels hit a single. The Hot Rods went on to win.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Tim Fox, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
The misery continues for the Drive, who have now dropped 11 in a row.
