Myers Excels, But Fireflies Win
|
2052 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Lexington Legends.
Lexington got a terrific game from center fielder Elijah Myers. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Columbia, 6-5. Myers went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Lexington now has a 7-game losing streak.
Jonathan Honke, the 23-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Honke contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put Columbia up, 2-0.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Lexington manager Curtis Bishop.
