The Portland Hops bested the San Diego Padres, 7-5, at Petco Park. Logan Giguere was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The last-place Padres now sit at 17-30.

Portland used the timely hitting of Iván Tristan to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hops on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Hops," said Giguere.
