The Kannapolis Intimidators picked up a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, knocking off the Columbus Catfish, 4-0. Starting pitcher Julian Svehla played a key role in the triumph. Svehla, now 8-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Rodrigo Ortiz notched his 4th save in 5 chances.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Brandon Lalonde put Kannapolis in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Intimidators went on to win the ballgame.

"I told our guys, 'Runs don't score by themselves,'" said Lalonde. "You need someone to get on base and someone to drive them in."

The 4th-place Intimidators have won 7 in a row.
