Lexington Sent Home with 5-2 Loss
The Lakewood BlueClaws trumped the Lexington Legends, 5-2, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Lakewood left fielder Dan Nachtman was terrific. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. The winner was Keith Engelstad, who threw 93 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits. Denton Thomas collected his 4th save.

The Legends had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the BlueClaws going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Bebe Reimer came to the plate. Reimer hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Lexington hurler Holden Hurt. It was Reimer's 7th home run of the year.

Nachtman said his team "played with determination."

The BlueClaws improved their record to 65-55 by beating Lexington.
