Cruisers Suffer 2-1 Loss to Udder Tuggers
|
The Santa Cruz Cruisers got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Curiel. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Temecula. The Udder Tuggers won the game, 2-1. Curiel threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Luca Driscoll notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Kody Grayson closed the game out for Temecula, earning his 4th save.
Temecula used a clutch hit from Henry Sullivan to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Udder Tuggers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is the only objective," said Sullivan after the game.
Temecula is now 12-8.
