Growlers Score Late to Nip Grasshoppers, 4-3

The Jonesboro Growlers knocked off the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-3, in South Atlantic League action at Growlers Ballpark. Jonesboro pitcher and Ponce, Puerto Rico, native Jenaro Contreras had an outstanding performance. Jensen Morris came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. The first-place Growlers bumped their record to 80-42.
Bartolome Álvarez clinched the win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
