Mariners Find a Way to Win
Virginia Beach Mariners starter Vern Harlow pitched a strong game against the Lynchburg Hillcats at Virginia Beach Ballpark, leading the Mariners to victory, 4-3. Walter Castellano, now 4-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. With the win, Virginia Beach upped its record to 61-47.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when center fielder Maximiliano Maldonado stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Harlow.
