Late Heroics Net Blue Jays 4-3 Win
|
Virginia Beach got a decent performance from pitcher D.J. Washington, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dunedin Blue Jays. Dunedin won the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium contest, 4-3. Washington threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Dunedin pitcher Orion Burks got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Lucas Geer got the loss. The Blue Jays are now 55-57, while the Mariners fall to 75-37.
The Blue Jays got a clutch hit from first baseman Gene Racy. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blue Jays.
"This house was rockin'," Racy said.
