Mohamed Broadnax brought his A-game to help Bradenton defeat the Frederick Keys, 6-1. Cesar Butler earned the save for Bradenton, his 5th of the year. Bradenton occupies 5th place in the East Coast League Florida Division at 57-59.
Jacob Rickert had a big solo home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the third inning. With Bradenton leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Routh and punished it. The result was his 19th home run of the season, which put the Marauders on top, 2-0.
"We have a lot of confidence in Mohamed," said Bradenton manager Mike Victorino.
