The Florida Fire Frogs cruised to a win over the Cocoa Flyers, 16-2, at Osceola County Stadium. Gage Valentine led the way, going 3-for-3 for Florida. Zach Read picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-4. He struck out 4 in 6.1 innings. Florida is now 60-57. Cocoa is 40-77.

Florida right fielder Juan Lugo contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a sinker to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 39th hit of the season and put the Fire Frogs ahead, 2-0.

"They slugged us," said losing manager Josh Baker. "They slugged us hard."
