Flyers Claim Late Win
|
The Cocoa Flyers defeated the Florida Fire Frogs, 4-2, at Osceola County Stadium. Cocoa was led by 22-year old third baseman A.J. Haase, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win belonged to Noah Lodge in relief. His record improves to 1-6. Alden Alcantara took the loss for Florida. Aaron Austin recorded his 18th save for Cocoa.
Haase had a game-changing triple in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 cutter from Alden Alcantara, he banged a 2-run triple to center, giving the Flyers a 4-2 lead. It was the 4th triple of the year for Haase.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Haase.
The Flyers are now 41-78, while the Fire Frogs fall to 61-58.
