Owls Earn 8-2 Home Win

The Oxford Owls got a marvelous performance from pitcher Curt Brown. The right-hander kept the St. Lucie offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 8-2 Oxford victory at Ballpark of Oxford. Earning the save was Verne Craft. He's now cashed in 1 of 1 save opportunities. Oxford now has a record of 69-52 with the win.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Verne Craft didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and St. Lucie trailing 3-2, Craft retired Joseph Ramsay to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Craft, with a wink.
