Mariners Lose to Ignition, 6-4
|
Indianapolis and Seattle duked it out and the Ignition came out victorious.
The inspired effort of Seattle designated hitter Dickie Pierce was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Indianapolis Ignition. Pierce went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Archer Knowles picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Elijah Siddall was tagged with the loss.
Wendell Dominique dealt the Mariners a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Indianapolis leading 4-3, Dominique, who is tied for 7th in the EAST in doubles with 18, hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dominique said.
Indianapolis goes to 33-22. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
