The New Westminster Cavalry defeated the Gold Beach Sea Unicorns, 7-5. Center Fielder Anthony Meissner deserved a large share of the credit. Meissner was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Cavalry. New Westminster pitcher Brody Phelps got the win, upping his record to 3-5. Paul Jordan got the loss. Ryan Cummings earned the save for New Westminster, his 10th of the year.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jericho Malacad? The New Westminster second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cavalry on top, 5-3. For the game, Malacad had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Jason Campbell.

Today's win puts New Westminster at 29-27, while Gold Beach falls to 30-26.
