Slumping Chiefs Lose Again
Gold Beach got a first-rate effort from pitcher Rawley Maciel, who frustrated Wenatchee hitters en route to a 2-1 Sea Unicorns triumph at Redding Grounds. The winner was Maciel. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Rich Mays. Now 12-45, Wenatchee has dropped 17 games in a row.

Gold Beach first baseman Fernando Sandoval contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the Sea Unicorns ahead, 2-0.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Maciel told the Gold Beach Daily.
