The Miami Marlins topped the Las Vegas Knights, 7-2, in Eastern Region action at Big Slick's House of Hardball. The game was highlighted by the performance of Miami pitcher Riley Egner. Egner, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Connor Halbig closed the door for Miami, picking up his 9th save of the year.

Miami used the hitting of Edward Lepak to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Marlins on top, 2-0. For the game, Lepak had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jason Geddis.

Miami, at 39-19, occupies first place in the Eastern Region Atlantic Division.
