Hops Suffer 10-7 Setback
Pittsburgh designated hitter P.J. Rey helped his team beat the Portland Hops, 10-7. Rey, who is on pace for 103 RBI this season, went 3 for 4 for the Pirates. Reliever Vincent Prudhomme picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Vic Mallery took the loss. At 30-28, the Pirates claim 4th place in the Eastern Region Great Lakes Division.

Eric Gehman was the walk-off hero for Pittsburgh. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pirates third baseman hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Rey said, postgame.
