Baltimore picked up a win at Big Slick's House of Hardball, bumping off the Las Vegas Knights, 5-2. Pitcher Jay Gordon was a major reason the Orioles emerged victorious. In 6 innings, Gordon surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Marky England was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Paul Ramos to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Despite the victory, Gordon was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
Baltimore, at 26-33, occupies third place in the Eastern Region Atlantic Division.
